For the developer of 4 Eleven Lofts on Washington at Division Street, finding tenants apparently hasn't been a problem. Scheduled to open in May, the 10-story building is still under construction and is on schedule. Marketing and leasing, on the other hand, are ahead of schedule, said David Kirshenbaum, an executive at Illinois-based Joseph Freed Associates. The company hosted an open house last week and has a model across the street from the project at McKinley Towne Centre. "It's early in the cycle, but we're off to a really good start. The economy is not affecting college kids the same way it is others," Kirshenbaum said. "And being so close to campus is appealing." The building will accommodate 342 beds in several apartment configurations. The project also includes 15,000 square feet of ground floor retail space. Kirshenbaum said there have been talks with prospective local tenants. |
